Tatiana Tarasenco, Registered Acupuncturist

Tatiana is a member of the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine's Registry of Acupuncturists. She graduated from nursing college in 1995 and earned a biology bachelor's degree in 2001. She had previously worked as a nurse in a children's hospital and had always been curious in the benefits of acupuncture for health and wellbeing. Tatiana got the opportunity to learn acupuncture when she immigrated to Canada and has since realized the satisfaction that comes from assisting others. In order to prevent or treat illnesses and problems, acupuncture usually involves placing needles under the skin at particular locations along the body's energy lines (meridians). However, the current Western medical or "Neuroanatomical" approach to acupuncture acknowledges that inserting needles into acupuncture points causes the body to undergo biochemical changes, such as the release of endorphins that reduce pain. What I enjoy about acupuncture is that it encourages the body's own natural healing processes to be reactivated. Together with popular medical modalities like acupuncture and acupressure therapy, she also provides Cupping, Moxibastion, and Tui-Na treatments.
